Tip-Off Tournament...GREAT SUCCESS!!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the Quincy University Lady Hawks were taking, Giving and Thanking anything and everything at this weekends Tip-Off Tournament. Friday night we tipped off our home game season against Upper Iowa in the Tip-Off Tournament. With nerves and excitement in the air, the ladies danced their way to victory with a final of 78-66. There were couple of plays that I won't ever forget! Starting the game, not may shots were falling at all, but with defensive pressure, and getting the ball to Steph Wagner, we were all right. Steph finished the game with a career high 25 points, shooting 5-11 from the three point line. Once again it was a very even scoring scale for the girls, with 9 girls contributing!

Friday Nights Most Memorable Moment: Linsay Henke stealing the ball at the top of the key and taking it all the way by herself. I would also like to add, she quit dribbling at the free-throw line!..It was nice, but a dunk would have been better:)

Saturday we had our first REAL challenge going  into the game against Northern Michigan University. But you would never have guessed it was a challenge looking at the box score. We ended up winning by 38, the final being 92-54. Everything was going perfectly, and if I had to guess, Coach probably doesn't have much to watch film on in that game! We shot 73% in the second half alone with 5 players in double figures, and Daryle Goldie leading the team in the points column, having a career high 16 points. When the night was over, we once again pulled off another W, AND another Tournament Title!

Just For Kicks: Courtney Shuman and Stephanie Wagner were named to the 5 player All-Tourney Team!
