ACL (A Cut Leg)

As I sat there watching the girls sprint circles at 6:30 in the morning, I couldn't help but smile. Not because I wasn't out there dying myself, but because of the dedication, heart and positive attitude they were running with!

On September 9th I ran into one of the biggest challenges life has offered me thus far...that would be acquiring an injury to my right knee. Not only did it end my night of playing pick up ball, but ended the season for me as well. The second it happened, i knew things weren't good. Not ever really being injured before, I had a gut feeling this was bad. But I tried to stay positive through the rest of the night (not saying I didn't have a nice little cry fest first)! After going through the process of doctors, nurses, trainers, receptionists, random people at the hospital, teammates, coaches and anyone else you might like to add. All was said and done and the results were in. I ended up tearing my ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and MCL (medial collateral ligament). Now my destiny was awaiting, and I had a new favorite place to hang. No longer would I spend my days in the gym but rather right around the corner, in the training room.

It has now been a month since and I have made it through the toughest part. I had surgery two weeks ago and now i'm in recovery mode. And with practice beginning tomorrow, i'm now prepared to enter into the season with a completely different mindset. But with the same dedication and heart I've always had! Knowing that challenges will arise this season for everyone on the team, the beauty of it is that life is full of them. " Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things" -Henry Ward Beecher

I am a firm believer in faith, it's the amount of faith you have in anything in life that will carry you through.  It doesn't matter what you apply it to. Nobody can control everything, and nobody knows everything, that is when you must step aside and evaluate the problem to overcome it!

I'm very excited to see how our team overcomes any road bump this season. We are a very strong-minded team. With a lot of heat and talent to go along with it. So with practice beginning tomorrow, you will be able to see everything that will be going on throughout the entire year. I will make sure by the end of the season you know more about these players and this team, than they know about each other by following this blog:)
